Quilted Patchwork Coasters – Set of 4

MATERIALS & PROCESS

All my pieces are one of a kind. I work exclusively with second-hand fabrics, which means I never know exactly what materials I’ll find from month to month. This results in unexpected fabrics, colours, compositions, and moods, with each piece developing its own character. The four coasters have machine-pieced patchwork tops, a layer of batting and second-hand fabric backing. I hand quilt the layers together to create a durable, padded surface for everyday use.

The layers are hand quilted together to create a durable, tactile surface suitable for everyday use. I design my work with longevity in mind. These pieces are made to be used regularly and cared for over time rather than replaced. If needed, they can be mended or repaired, and each piece comes with a small selection of fabric scraps from its making, along with detailed care instructions, to support future maintenance.
