Patchwork Quilt Block Mug Rug

Availability: 1 in stock

This quilt block mug rug combines several small quilt elements in one piece, including pinwheel sections, flying geese, and a small star detail. The mix creates a varied surface with different shapes and directions, but the restrained colour palette keeps everything balanced. The result feels active but still easy to place in a room. It is designed for everyday use on a table, desk, or coffee table, helping protect surfaces while adding texture. The size works well under a mug or cup and can also be used as a small textile accent. Durable and easy to care for, it works well in both busy and minimal spaces.

Description

MATERIALS & PROCESS

All my pieces are one of a kind. I work exclusively with second-hand fabrics, which means I never know exactly what materials I’ll find from month to month. This results in unexpected fabrics, colours, compositions, and moods, with each piece developing its own character. Each quilt block mug rug is made with a machine pieced patchwork top, a layer of batting, and a backing fabric. The layers are hand quilted together to create a durable, tactile surface suitable for everyday use.

I design my work with longevity in mind. These pieces are made to be used regularly and cared for over time rather than replaced.
If needed, they can be mended or repaired, and each piece comes with a small selection of fabric scraps from its making, along with detailed care instructions, to support future maintenance.
